After the Slow Swing Summer workshop and Slovember, we’re going one step further.
This spring, we invite you into a trilogy of Slow Swing workshops: three mornings dedicated to exploring what happens when Lindy Hop meets slow jazz — and you actually give the music the time it deserves.
Slow Swing isn’t a fixed style. It’s a shared investigation.
How do you dance when the tempo drops, but the swing stays alive?
What needs to soften, what needs to stretch, and what suddenly becomes possible?
Across three workshops, international Slow Bal and Slow Swing teacher Deirdre will guide you through the world of Slow Swing together with a different co-teacher each time. She’ll be joined by Loes (Amsterdam), Assil (Amsterdam) and Joost (Rotterdam) — three inspiring dancers who each bring their own flavour, questions and insights into slow dancing. (More about the teachers below.)
Expect grounded movement, subtle dynamics, and plenty of room to experiment, listen, and play.
You can join one, two, or all three workshops — each session stands on its own, but together they form a rich, connected journey into Slow Swing.

Deirdre is an international Slow Bal and Slow Swing teacher and the founder of Slowfeet Studio. After discovering Lindy Hop in Berlin, she fell deeply in love with slow dancing — especially the clarity, control and intimacy that emerge when the tempo drops.
Her teaching focuses on grounded technique, clear movement, fun and expression. Deirdre is known for making complex ideas accessible, offering precise feedback, and creating a safe, focused space to explore slow jazz together. For her, slow dancing is not about doing less, but about doing things with intention.
Assil is a Lindy Hop, Blues and Collegiate Shag dancer and teacher with an infectious love for social dancing. You’ll find him on the dance floor until the very last song.
What he loves most about slow dancing is the freedom it offers: space to express yourself, play with timing, and really connect with music and with partner. Assil brings a relaxed, joyful energy into the room and invites dancers to explore slow swing as something expressive, social and deeply musical.
Loes dances with warmth, joy and musical sensitivity. Slow music, for her, is an invitation to float, breathe, and let the melody guide the movement. As a musician and dancer, she brings a deep understanding of rhythm and melody to her art.
As a teacher (lindy, collegiate shag and blues), she’s known for her personal attention and her ability to spot exactly what a dancer needs to unlock the next step. Loes loves helping dancers find confidence and happiness on the floor — because when you feel good, your dancing shows it.
Joost comes from a strong technical dance background and brings that depth into his swing dancing. After Lindy Hop and Balboa, he found his way to slow jazz — where control, nuance and musical choice truly shine.
In his teaching, Joost encourages dancers to develop their own voice. He happily shares technique and structure, but what matters most to him is seeing dancers relax, connect, and dance in a way that feels authentic and personal.
Registration opens on Wednesday, 18th of February.
